This wonderful apartment is located in Via Giulia, one of the most beautiful streets of Rome. It is the ideal accommodation for families as well as for couples. If you want to stay in a cosy, well-organized apartment in the heart of the city, this is the ideal solution. Recently renovated and furnished with a touch of typical Roman elegance, this beautiful apartment is located on the 2nd floor of an ancient palace from the 16th century: The Palazzo Pamphilj Lecca di Guevara! The building is controlled by a doorman and hosts a beautician business available for guests. The flat is composed in this way: a spacious and comfortable living room with a large library, a small desk, a sofa bed (150 cm), a flat screen TV, a DVD player and a CD player; a room with a double bed and a mezzanine with 2 single beds (futon); a bathroom with shower and bidet; a very well organized kitchen with table and 6 chairs. The living room and the bedroom are equipped with air conditioning. There is also a free internet WiFi connection.

Our aim is to make you feel at home without being worried about running in a supermarket after a long journey. That's why you will be welcomed with basic food!

If you are curious and you want to discover the secrets of Roman cuisine, its ingredients, its history, we will be at your disposal for a real “food tour” to explore the markets, the butchers, the fish shops, the fresh pasta laboratories and the wine shops amongst the most popular of the capital. We could then prepare and cook together the traditional dishes of our city. A nice way to learn something new and enjoy real home-made dishes!

A Palace that whispers the story of a street once populated by merchants and craftsmen of 1500! A cosy and warm apartment! The chance to travel back in time walking in the lively streets of the neighborhood. The starting point to discover the most beautiful city of the world!

This lovely apartment is located in Rome, in the prestigious Via Giulia, just a few steps from Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona and all the wonders of the old centre of the capital. The central location of the house allows you to discover a large number of activities and places of interest just walking. Within a 20 minutes walk you will be able to admire the most important historical and archaeological sites of the city. The area is well served by public transport, restaurants with typical Roman gastronomy, as well as Italian and international cuisine, supermarkets and open air markets. For our young guests we recommend “Trastevere” area, distinguished by bars, pubs and clubs of all kinds.
Via Giulia was designed by Pope Julius II. It was the first attempt since antiquity to pierce a new thoroughfare through the heart of Rome and the first European example since antiquity of urban renewal. Via Giulia runs from the Ponte Sisto to the church of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, following the tight curve of the Tiber. It became the most fashionable street of the city in the sixteenth century turning out to be the favoured of the bourgeois and of the Florentine community. Today it is one of Rome's elite shopping streets, noted for its antique shops. The street is part of the Rione Regola (Regola District) very famous for his past commercial and craft activities.
Just look at the names of the streets: Via dei Pettinari, Balestrari ,Giubbonari Catinari, Baullari,…imagine the manufacturers and suppliers, butchers, tanners, dyers and millers.
You will be welcomed with basic food! Our aim is to make you feel at home without being worried about running in a supermarket after a long journey.

A nice way to learn something new and enjoy real homemade dishes!

A recommender absolument !

Bruno C. - 30/07/2014

Peaceful, secure and centric apartment for families, friends or couples. Wonderful stay

M. D. - 10/09/2014

Legens A. - 10/09/2014

Cyrille G. - 10/09/2014

"A cosy flat, very clean and well equiped. The area is charming with old houses and palaces and at a walking distance of many historical sites. The owner is a kind person who speaks perfect French and is keen to help."

Laurence M. - 10/09/2014

Stephanie S. - 10/09/2014

We stayed with our two teenaged kids. The apartment was very comfortable (the loft is perfect for kids), colorfully decorated, and in a GREAT location. We walked absolutely everywhere, and never took the metro once. The host, Nadia, was very helpful (even ordered a taxi for us the day we were leaving). Really a nice place.

Laurie D. - 10/09/2014

Centrally located on a historic relatively quiet street not far from the campo dei fiori and most of the sites in the center of Rome. Gabriel and Nadia were easy to coordinate with and made us feel right at home. The apartment was just exactly as described - very comfortable.

Laurie D. - 10/09/2014

The apartment was exactly as described on a historic street a couple of steps away from the lively campo dei fiori square. Most of the major sights including the Vatican, Spanish steps, the roman forum, and Piazza Navona are easily accessible by walking. The apartment itself was comfortable for the five adults in our party and equipped with basic supplies like coffee, soap for the washer, etc. There was lots of reading material about Rome in various languages. We were met by Nadia who was very helpful and sweet in getting us settled - including providing some fresh strawberries and other treats for our first day in Rome. A couple of caveats - the streets are fairly noisy with regular traffic and some roof construction and there are stairs - 57 of them to access the apartment. Neither of these bothered us too much, but may be a problem for others.

Amanda W. - 10/09/2014

This is a special place: every building in the street was built during the Renaissance close to one of Rome's best squares, the Piazza d'Fiori with its market and multiple restaurants from which to watch the world go by Our two children, age 13 and 11, loved the mezzanine bedroom. We loved the comfort and atmosphere of the place. Also Gabriel and Annalisa couldn't have been more helpful. They are charming hosts and recommended local restaurants and gave advice on transport. Don't look any further, book this place.

Steve K. - 10/09/2014

My family of 4 just loved this apartment. The location is great. Practically a stones throw from Trastevere and Campo de Fiore. The street is quiet and not touristy. And, there's an ATM across the street. Our host was gracious and informative. And, most importantly, she introduced us to roman pizza from the bakery in Campo de Fiore. We ate that pizza just about every day during our 4 night stay. Our boys (11 and 13) enjoyed the sleeping loft. Littler kids would really get a kick out of it as the loft is outfitted with fun pillows and other fun things. I recommend this apartment, the location, and the hosts without reservation. Go and enjoy!

Michael N. - 10/09/2014

We stayed for 4 nights with our adult sized children. Unit was compact but if you are out enjoying Rome this is irrelevant. Manager organised a restaurant for New Year's Eve dinner. Really appreciated. Only issue was main electricity circuit tripped if you ran too many appliances, eg one A/C + washing machine + tv. Once we worked out the limit all fine. But the manager knows of this issue as they told us where the circuit breaker was in at check in. Overall a great stay.

Lisa J. - 10/09/2014

We stayed here with two teenagers. We all had a great time. It was big enough that everyone had enough space. The wi-fi works great in every room but the kitchen (which the teens REALLY appreciated). The A/C units work very well. Over the course of this trip we rented places in Paris, Rome & Venice. Of all, this was the most comfortable and convenient. A true home away from home. Highly recommend!

David C. - 10/09/2014

Light and airy, with a comfortable feel. Accurately described. Well equipped, including some basics often not supplied such as coffee, toilet roll, soap, washing up liquid. Also a welcome pack of cookies and pasta. Handover was friendly and straightforward, English spoken, helpful advice about gelateria, shops and local pizzeria. Aircon worked well. Dealt with a minor plumbing issue promptly. Shower is slightly cramped and it would have been helpful to have a few more hooks in the bathroom. Our girls found the futon mattress somewhat firm, but slept OK. Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing retreat in between forays out into the heat and bustle of the city centre - many sights within 15-30 minutes walk.

Sylvie D. - 10/09/2014

The apartment is very well located, a few steps away from Campo de Fiori. Via Giulia is indeed one of Roma's nicest street. The neighbourhood is pleasant. We could not have asked for more. The apartment is as nice as what the pictures show, well laid out and spacious, except for the bathroom, which is a little bit small. Very comfortable for two persons or for a small family. The apartment is bright, with windows on two sides. The kitchen is well equipped, which offer the possibility to cook good meals. All good italian products can be bought nearby. Beds are comfortables. Every thing was perfect! Nadia, the owner is charming. We certainly would go back again.

Mila M. - 10/09/2014

It's a beautiful house,in a beautiful street, very comfortable, with all you need. The owner is very friendly. Much better than it looks. Very clean and new (inclunding tv). The position is ideal for exploring Rome on foot. Bellissima casa in una bellissima strada rinascimentale.

Peter D. - 10/09/2014

This apartment which was once part of a 16th century palace fully exceeded our expectations and its description was accurate to the letter. Situated in one of Rome's most famous historical streets - Via Guilia - it is a 1min walk to the Tiber, 5 mins walk to the Campo de Fiori and a mere 15 mins walk to St Peter's Square! Also, importantly, the famous 116 bus that takes you through the cobbled streets of central Rome, from one side to the other, stops just a few yards from the apartment. The building and apartment are both very secure. Internally, the apartment's decor is a sheer delight and ideally suited for a family with every possible facility available to you. Charming Nadia greets you on arrival and is most informative and helpful with all your questions. If you're eating out and looking for both quality and quantity at a reasonable price, 5mins away, 'La Quercia' restaurant can be found in the piazza of the same name (just behind Piazza Farnese) and which we highly recommend. Also 10mins away is the Jewish District, where you will find a number of excellent reasonably priced restaurants. This apartment is an absolute gem and not to be missed!

Deborah C. - 10/09/2014

We stayed here in July for 7 days with 2 teenagers. We loved the location, close to Trastavere and all sightseeing. The TV did not work so should not be promoted otherwise it was great.

Anju C. - 10/09/2014

We stayed in this apartment for 10 days with 2 teenagers. Brilliant location & we were very comfortable. Would definetly recommend it to friends.

Tissa I. - 10/09/2014

We spent few days with our familly (3 child) in this lovely apartment. We enjoy very much the localisation, it's really the "dolce vita" with this adress...The owner is very likeable, we recommand this perfect adress !

Tissa A. - 10/09/2014

We spend happy days in this very confortable aparment : very clean and very well localized... a very nice place to visit Roma with pleasure; neer Campo di Fiori and the Farnese place ! The owner is very nice ! A good adress for a family. We hope to return there!

Caroline C. - 10/09/2014

Andrew H. - 13/05/2015

We stayed here for 5 nights as a family of 4. Our two children(10 and 13) loved the cute mezzanine bedroom. The apartment is very clean and comfortable with a distinct separate lounge area which was great to relax in at the end of the day. The eat in kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and enjoy wonderful food from the nearby markets and supermarket. A lovely welcoming touch was the inclusion of a welcome bottle of wine and some Pizza Bianco . Beds were very comfortable and we felt very at home in the apartment. Being so close to Campo Dei Fiori was fabulous , a lovely stroll up to the markets for fresh food during the day and then dinner out at night. We would definitely stay here again when in Rome. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because the street can be a bit noisy at night(weekends) but with the shutters closed(and after a long day of sight seeing) it really didn't disturb us too much.

Sue H. - 09/11/2015

This is a lovely apartment in a fabulous building in the old part of Rome - lovely area to wander around and within easy reach of the main attractions. The apartment was clean, well equipped and comfortable, exactly as described. It was very nice and welcoming to arrive and find coffee, tea, milk and biscuits. The market of Campo di Fiori is close by, as are grocery shops etc. A couple of points which others have mentioned - firstly, the traffic noise: there is some noise but bear in mind you are in the middle of Rome! It did not disturb us at all. Secondly, the stairs to the apartment - it is two flights up so would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues, but otherwise it is no problem at all. I would certainly recommend the apartment as a great place to stay.

Thomas Z. - 11/11/2015

Beautiful apartment, very friendly and helpful organization, GRAZIE!

Olivier D. - 11/11/2015

Chiara B. - 02/02/2016

We were in the apartment for 2 weeks last December. It is centrally located and ideal to explore the city center. It is well equipped and there are lots of shops in the neighbourhood to buy basic supplies as well as pizzerias, cafes and restaurants. The WIFI works well. The apartment is in one of the most beautiful street of Rome, not too noisy for that part of the city, crowded at night. It is suitable for a couple or a family of 4, especially with young children. Giorgia, who, welcomed us, was very kind and easy to contact. Three minor cons.: the apartment is on the second floor without elevator and if you have lots of luggages. like we did, it's a bit difficult to get in and out (very hard for people with disabilities); the bathroom is very small and the shower needs some work; in winter, we were a bit cold. Quality/price it's a good combination and overall we had a enjoyable experience.

Nancy W. - 10/03/2016

Via Giulia has to be the single best location in Rome, and the apartment at #4 has to be one of the best situated on Via Giulia. It's not fancy but is perfectly adequate, safe and quiet, and although equipped for tourists has a charming authentic ambiance. There is a sleeping loft above the bedroom that would work nicely for young children, and I believe the sofa turns into a bed, but the reality is that two people will be more comfortable here than three or four or five or six, although if you're pinching Euros, it could be done. We asked that the kitchen be stocked with a few grocery items for our arrival and that airport transportation be arranged--both requests were executed perfectly. Management is thoughtful and responsive. Highly recommend.

Alexius J. - 03/04/2016

Our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children - 8, 10, 12 and 14 years old) had a wonderful stay in this loving, charming apartment! The location is fabulous - right in the middle of the main tourist areas in Rome, yet tucked away in a quiet and secure courtyard! We felt very safe, and almost like we were locals! :) There are 2 bedrooms and a couch bed in the living room that worked perfectly for us - with plenty of space. The small kitchen was all we needed for light meals. We loved the little patio outside. There is a grocery store, bank, bus stop, pharmacy all within walking distance. And gelato and coffee next door! :) The staff was so helpful and kind. The apartment was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We LOVED everything about our time in Rome!! Thank you!

Ros F. - 03/04/2016

Melanie P. - 10/07/2016

We spent 5 great days in Rome and it was nice to come back to a big, airy apartment. The location is wonderful, near Campo de' Fiori and the Tiber. You can walk to the Pantheon in 10 minutes or so. Via Giulia is a beautiful old Roman street. Our hostess left great info for shopping and eating places and welcomed us with juice and cookies. The apt. furnishings are on the old side but for the space and location it's good value. It's a climb up the stairs but you get used to it. There's a washing machine and drying racks (washing cycles in Italy are much longer) so that is convenient. And the kitchen was well equipped to make a simple meal if you are tired of eating in restaurants. Would stay here again.

Sonia I. - 03/08/2016

An amazing apartment on a gorgeous and quiet street steps from everything you need in Rome. Truly the most amazing apartment we ever rented anywhere. It was perfect for our family of four. Giorgia met us at the apartment and was accessible via Whats App during our stay. Our driver both to and from the airport (*as well as one in between during our stay) was extremely professional. I hope to visit Rome again one day and would stay here again without hesitation and recommend it to friends and family, again without hesitation. Superb!

Julie I. - 03/08/2016

We were so happy with this rental! We traveled with teenagers and the loft was a great and comfortable space for them. The location is excellent, a short walk to interesting markets and restaurants, the bus and taxi stands were also not far off. The street is quiet and the air conditioner worked well. Georgia checked us in, made sure we had everything and pointed out some local spots of interest. Two things to note, that we found in all six of our Italy stops, there are lots of stairs to get into the apartment and the wifi was spotty. (If wifi is a thing for you, consider renting a portable for your whole Italy stay)

Irene F. - 04/09/2016

This was our first family trip (2 adults and 2 teenagers) to Europe and we fell in love with Rome. The apartment is in a perfect location for us. We walked to all the tourists sites, restaurants, market etc. The booking was easy and everyone was quick to respond to my questions and requests. They also helped arranged for transportation for airport and cruise transfers without any issues. We had to climb lots of stairs to get to the third floor but good workout after the daily food consumption. The stairs to the loft is also quite steep. It is an older apartment but it is kept clean and comfortable. Air conditioner is a plus in the hot summer days but we usually had it turned off at night. Wi-Fi is a little spotty and you'll have to wait for hot shower after two people. Overall it's well worth the money. Thanks for a great experience and we'll definitely stay again.

My husband and I spent a week in Rome in this wonderful apartment. The apartment had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the washing machine, which we used daily. The drying rack was huge with easily enough room for our wet clothes. The kitchen was great, although we did not use it very much. It's ideal for families planning to make some of their meals. The location was convenient, as we just walked a few streets over to reach Campo di Fiori, then Piazza Navona. As noted by other reviewers, there are stairs but after all the gelato we ate each night, they were welcome. I'd definitely recommend this apartment.

A very central Rome position, close to campo De Fiori, piazza navona, Trastevere, and easy access to Vatican area. Apartment was generously sized. Wifi worked well. Kitchen was large and helpful. On the negative side, bathroom was quite smelly on arrival and no amount of air freshener could dull the stench (a plumbing issue) but the other concern was the 60 steps to/from the street (helps work off the joy of pasta and dessert). On a practical note, the red hop on/off buses don't stop nearby, but if you can read a map, you can overcome this problem.

From booking to departure, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The apartment was clean and welcoming. The street is loud, but I think that would be true of all streets in the central part of Rome and is the noise is caused by drunken tourists.

The first thing to know about this apartment is that the location is unbeatable. Via Giulia is short walking distance from so many of the highlights of historic Rome, close to countless excellent restaurants, easy access to transit if/when necessary - yet small and quiet enough that street noise is rarely an issue. The apartment is three floors up - a bit of a hike (there's no elevator, this is a 16th-century building), but you get used to it. It's secure, reasonably quiet (especially when the window shutters are closed), comfortable, surprisingly large. Basically one bedroom with a small staircase in the bedroom leading to a "mezzanine" (loft) - a semi-separate sleeping area with a couple of single beds, most suitable for kids. Beds were very comfortable, we all slept well. Living room is spacious, although a bit under-furnished. Kitchen is large, with full-sized table for dining, and well-equipped. Bathroom is a bit dated, and only has a shower, no tub - but hey, it's a bathroom, it serves its basic purposes adequately. Wifi was temperamental, needed re-setting constantly, but we didn't go to Rome for the Internet connection. In sum, this is a roomy, comfortable apartment, not luxurious (though it easily could be, with a bit of upgraded furnishings), but very pleasant - and the price is fantastic, considering the prime location and the size of the space. And the agency that manages the property, Charme Holidays, is a joy to work with - very professional, very helpful, great communications, no unhappy surprises. We'd be happy to stay here again, and to rent from Charme again.
