Trastevere, from Latin Trans Tiberim, meaning Beyond the Tiber, was once connected to the rest of the city only through one bridge, the very famous and antique Sublicio bridge. This was the place that fishermen and sailors chose to live because of the proximity to the river. The twisted and irregular narrow streets, witness of a time when the poor people built their homes close to those of the rich, are now the main feature of Trastevere. Thanks to this amazing crossing of streets, alleys and to the light that filters between them, Trastevere is a kaleidoscope of colours, shades and surprising perspectives!
The neighbourhood is one of the most complete and independent of the city: you can easily find bars, pubs, pizzerias, banks, pharmacies, cinemas, markets and still a lot of tiny old craftsmen shops who keep alive the ancient Roman spirit. One of the most beautiful squares, today a cool meeting point for young people, is the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere. It hosts one of the oldest working fountains of the city while on one of its sides stands the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere which houses beautiful mosaics depicting moments of everyday life of the Virgin Mary. Trastevere is also well known for the mysterious secrets hidden amongst its many winding streets. Following them you will enter the beauty of Rome's from the main door!

 How to reach us

Angela T. - 02/06/2015

Everything went very smooth; the hostess was available pretty much 24/7 for any request I had (not too many!). The apartment is perfect for two people, very clean, great location, safe and bright feeling to the place. There was expresso and welcome snacks waiting for me, which was welcomed after a 9 hour flight! Only minor item I would note is that shower is tiny and hot water is limited, overall though I'd stay here again.

Moran M. - 10/11/2015

Me and my boyfriend had a great time at the apartment, And we highly recommend It! The apartment was well organized, clean, and the neighborhood is fantastic, only minutes away from restaurants & bars . Also, we had a delay in our flight, and the check in manager was flexible and welcoming.

We stayed in super connected in trastevere rome for one week in July. There were 6 of us traveling and The apartment was better than we expected, clean, spacious, conveniently located and tiziana was an exceptional host- punctual, approachable and gave us some great tip re: food, shopping etc. thank you tiziana for a great stay in rome- fingers crossed all our airbnb experiences are as positive as this stay in rome.

Comunque bella sistemazione siamo stati bene.

Gina B. - 10/11/2015

We had the pleasure of staying at the Red apartment for 4 days last week and were quite happy with the incredibly spacious rooms and the attention from Giorgia and Tiziana. They went above and beyond with accommodating us for an early checkin and were ever so gracious in assisting me when I lost my wallet. The apartment is beautifully appointed and the location is perfect. There are so many stores and markets close by and you are a 10 minute walk from the centre of historic Rome. This apartment is on a busy street and would be noisy for a light sleeper but I find you get use to the din of Rome. And it's an amazing trade off for everything else this place has to offer. We felt very secure and the built in bidet in the toilet is brilliant! We are looking at getting one put in our own home now! Everything you could need or want is there plus some goodies to get you started. We would definitely stay here again, Oh! And the bed? The most comfortable sleep we had in all the three weeks we were in Italy. Amazing! And an incredible selection of guide books to help you plan. Thank you again for such a wonderful and memorable stay.

Malcom G. - 11/11/2015

This stay was definitely the best in the entire time we were in Rome. Trestavere is in the heart of so many restaurants and wonderful food shops. The best suppli is half a block away. And the Sunday Porta market just a few blocks. Everywhere you turn there's amazing food to be had. The apartment building was beautiful and secure. Only one story up to the apartment and there is a lift. We were surprised at how big it was for the price and loved the clean modern decor. Great shower pressure and everything you need for a longer stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable and a full queen not two twins pushed together. The A/C worked wonderfully. I would recommend this space for couples and families. And the ladies that helped us with the booking, checkin and checkout were wonderful. Everything went smoothly and on time. We would definitely stay here again when coming back to Rome.

The apartment is fabulous! It is brand new, probably refurbished just some months ago, with great beds, cosy atmosphere and located in one of the best spots of Rome. The tram 8 is just in front of the building door and connects the lively Trastevere district to the old center. We enjoyed the many restaurants, pubs, cafes of the area and we explored all central Rome just walking! If you are looking for a smart accommodation, close to everything and with very cool owners this is the right place to go!

Anna T. - 04/12/2015

Our family spent 5 wonderful days in the blue apartment which looks exactly like on the photos. Everything was perfect. Very good connection to the Airport. About 45 minutes from Fiumincino to Trastevere station by train and from there direct tram (no 8) to the apartment, which is just in front of the tramway stop. Then the same tramway no 8 takes you directly to Piazza Venezia, but you can also go there by foot – it is not so far, we made it with our 5 years boy! You have everything you need just few steps from the apartment: charming restaurants, shops and bars. We recommend a nice walk from the flat to Janiculum Hill (Gianicolo) with a splendid views on the Rome. Annalisa from Charm Holiday was very helpful and reactive (very quick answers by e-mail), she arranged us the additional bad for our son. Tiziana, who welcomed us in the appartment with some biscuits, orange juice and bottle of water, was very kind and ready to support us in any case, however it was not necessary, because our stay was calm and just perfect! We appreciated that the bedroom of the blue apartment was giving on the very quite backyard while from the living room we could observe the real live in Rome. The whole building was clean. If one day we come back to Roma we would like to use that apartment again.

Insgesamt super Eindruck!

Patrizia B. - 10/07/2016

We loved this apartment for its location, its comfort, its looks, its size and its cleanliness. Its location was great because it was close enough to Piazza Trilussa and the Lungotevere if you wanted to access the noisy nightlife (both max. a 10 min walk away), but far away enough to get a good night's sleep! There is a supermarket and a great fresh food market just around the corner as well as great cafes, restaurants, delis and forni. Bus line H and Tram 8 stopped outside the front door which meant easy access to the Trastevere and Termini train stations as well as the centre of town. They ran frequently so we were able to get around quickly and easily. The bedroom faces onto a private and enclosed courtyard, ensuring a quiet sleep and no street noise. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment for cooking a simple meal and to make a good coffee - which met all our needs. Tiziana was there to welcome us on our arrival, even if we were very late, due to an airport strike. She was very kind and very welcoming. The apartment is elegant, well appointed and comfortable, with plenty of hot water and working air conditioner (though we didn't need it). We loved our stay in this apartment and highly recommend it.

Nickel!

Richard W. - 05/12/2016

This was a beautiful modern flat right on Viale Trastevere -- very close to tram and bus stops, and close to all the wonderful restaurants and pedestrian areas of the neighborhood. And if you wanted to get to the historic sites, the tram took you right there. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. I would return again with no reservations.

Tatiana W. - 05/12/2016

This apartment was very clean and well furnished. The location is central to public transportation that makes getting to points of interest easy and is within a short walking distance of many restaurants. The people at Charme Holiday were very professional and very helpful.

Dominique J. - 01/05/2017

Extremely well located, great service, just as in pictures. Recommend!

Ana C. - 06/07/2017

Tonia C. - 03/08/2017

close to all that you need and helpful orientation at check in We were a bit nervous as we arrived because we had to take a 20 minute taxi from the train station, we thought we were going to be to far from the sights. This was NOT the case. Tiziana our check in manager was so informative(spoke good English). She checked to make sure everything was in order upon check in (the apartment was still being cleaned as we arrived early but they were accommodating - and it was a very clean apartment!! ) Tiziana showed us where we were on a map, and oriented us to local food, destinations, taxi (for getting to the airport). There is a tram that stops out front that goes all over but she said we probably would enjoy walking more. She was correct - all the big sights were within 30 mins walking if not less. And the walks allow you to see the city. There are TONS of places to eat within steps of the apartment. I would suggest if in the summer do the tour of the colosseum (do the tour that takes you under the floor and to the top top) and the Vatican as the lines are crazy and NOT worth the wait - also you get the history during the tours and explanation of everything there is to see! The tours allow you to skip the line and is better than the skip the line pass in my opinion. Enjoy!!!

Gina R. - 02/09/2018

Great apartment and located right in front of bus transportation, a few blocks to all the eating and shopping you desire. Very clean and modern decor with the old Italian charm of the building . Spacious for 3 people .

Katy L. - 01/10/2018

A great apartment however wasn’t suitable for our short stay due to a lack of flexibility around check in time and the flat cleaning rate which was excessive for two days. However location was perfect and the apartment itself lovely so would be ideal for those staying 4-5 days or more.

Lesli W. - 01/02/2019

We rented the two adjoining apartments--red and blue--for our family of six, and found it perfect for our needs. The layout is somewhat quirky, but it works well in providing a good amount of privacy. The bathrooms are small but functional; one needs to be careful with the amount of hot water used to avoid running out (advance warning prevented this from happening to us). The blue apartment bedroom overlooks the quiet central patio; the other bedrooms all front on the Viale di Trastevere and thus tend to be rather noisy. The apartment is well provisioned with cooking utensils, cooktop, microwave, and other essentials. Communicating with the host and the greeter was made very easy by WhatsApp, and our greeter was there at the appointed time to introduce us to everything we needed to know. The location is great! It's on a tram stop that allowed us to get from Trastevere station to the apartment with no difficulty; the tram continues to the Piazza de Venezia, in the center of everything. It's fairly easy walking distance to attractions (although the tram may well be the better option). Trastevere itself is a lively neighborhood with lots of places to eat, small cafes, a museum just around the corner from the apartment, and lots of places to wander. Cross the bridge and you come to Testaccio, which has a growing reputation as a foodie neighborhood. All in all, this is a great place! The only thing that kept it from being absolutely perfect was the nighttime noise. Highly recommended!
