 Surroundings

Monti district in Rome is the neighborhood of art galleries and wineries.
Today is a Mecca for all the young tourists traveling to the capital. It borders the Rome of the Roman Forum and the Esquilino. A short walk from the neighborhood there are the magnificent basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore and San Pietro in Vincoli which houses the famous Moses by Michelangelo.
His rough roads are made of cobblestones, and its narrow streets at night are a beauty breathtaking. It revolves around the district around the square of the Madonna dei Monti, with the characteristic Fountain of catechumens designed by Giacomo della Porta who is the main gathering place of both the inhabitants and tourists.
Gourmet shops and restaurants slow food dot the streets, but the wineries have sustainable prices. There's Via del Boschetto, the road to Rome with the highest number of restaurants per square meter.
Next, via Panisperna place of famous restaurants from the days of the Dolce Vita, takes its name from the Latin "Panis et perna" (bread and ham) remained in history for the Institute of Physics where Enrico Fermi gathered around him the most brilliant physicists first year, 30 'of the twentieth century.
A Monti still resists a network of small traders and artisans that give you the impression that time has stopped. Are gilders, chromers, carpenters, blacksmiths, junk disguised as antique dealers. There is one of the most famous vintage markets of Rome. And then there are other, painters and art galleries. There are pubs, where English-speaking tourists gather and then sing in the streets at night.
Monti, is a neighborhood not to be missed for those visiting the Eternal City!
